Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins (born in Mexico) is the Mexican American journalist. Her current job is with ESPN as a reporter for SportsCenter as well as occasionally hosting SportsNation. She joined ESPN in 2016. The daughter of TV reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta is a native bilingual. When she was just nine, Collins's ability to communicate in two languages helped her get a job in Miami as an assistant production for Univision. Antonietta Collins' parents are originally from Veracruz Mexico. They eventually moved to Mexico City, where Antonietta Collins was born on November 1985. Her older sister is also hers. The family in 1992 left Mexico and relocated to Miami. After a while the family split up, and in 1995 Fabio Fajardo was remarried. He died from kidney cancer in the year 2006. When on vacation, Antonietta stayed at her sister's house in Canton Ohio. Her older Collins sister had just landed the job of his dreams. Antonietta was just graduating from high school but already knew the things she wanted to be doing. As it turned out she loved the campus and they were offering the kind of program she was searching for. After high school, she graduated and was enrolled in media studies at the university. The professor she had was Mark Bergmann, who managed WRMU FM and was member of her class, developed a lasting relationship with her. Her professor Mark Bergmann inspired her by his passion for journalism. Also, he deeply affected her.
